PHOTO REPORT: Disneyland Resort Update 11/20/2018 (Gingerbread House, Downtown Disney, It’s A Small World Toy Shop, Etc.)
The Festival of Holidays is in full swing at the Disneyland Resort,so let’s take a look at the holiday decorations, along with a plethora of construction walls. We’re here to bring you updates, including Downtown Disney’s second Starbucks, Ballast Point, It’s A Small World Toy Shop reopening, construction to Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and more.
As we reported last week, the second Starbucks in Downtown Disney, located on the West side near Earl of Sandwich, will be reopening. It’s difficult to tell if any work is being done to the store yet, to prepare it for an opening date that has not been announced. As of now, there is a sign redirecting guests to the store further east near World of Disney.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes is still under construction. Guests can view a bit of the work being done inside through the windows.
It appears Ballast Point still has a ton of work to be done before its opening, which has not been set for any specific date. The exposed second floor shows the extent of construction taking place. There has been some progress made to the corner deck on the second floor, such as detailing on the exterior.
The entrance to the Disney Home store, which was previously decorated for Halloween, features a grand display of the holiday merchandise for sale. And over at World of Disney, beautifully lit garland lines the ceilings and merchandise displays.
A display at the West Entrance to World of Disney showcases the Princesses’ comfy-clothes merchandise from the new movie Ralph Breaks the Internet, just in time for tomorrow’s theatrical release.
Over at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, guests are once again treated to a marvelous gingerbread house display. This gingerbread house weighs 700 pounds and features 25 Hidden Mickeys. Also returning this year is the large Christmas tree that takes center stage of the hotel’s lobby.
As we head to Disneyland, we see some construction at the Monorail station in Downtown Disney.
The Mickey garlands have returned to Main Street now that the filming of the Disney Holiday Parade Special has ended.
And over in Fantasyland, It’s a Small World Toy Shop has opened after a Fall refurbishment. Not much has changed, but the store did receive a beautiful paint job throughout both the exterior and interior.
Speaking of It’s a Small World—the fast pass distribution for this attraction is located at the same spot where Matterhorn fast passes are distributed. While a Cast Member does help guests distinguish which kiosks provide which attraction’s fast pass, the distributor for It’s a Small World is indicated with a themed scarf.
Just around the corner from the Matterhorn is the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, where walls surround one of the viewing areas. The ride is still in operation.
And it looks like construction is never ending over by the Enchanted Tiki Room. Walls are still in place between the attraction and Jolly Holiday Bakery.
It looks like the new 2019 pins are making their way to the stores. These are the Disneyland version of the 2019 pins we showed you earlier today at Walt Disney World. The three new designs feature Mickey and Pals, Minnie with It’s a Small World, and Chip and Dale with Carthay Circle. Also found are new Minnie ears pins, in a set of four.
