Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure is offering two all new holiday items for the 2018 season. The Turkey Carnitas Poutine and the Specialty Holiday Cocktail. Both items are available at the upstairs area of Lamplight Lounge. As most of you know, the upstairs lounge area is available to everyone without any reservation. You can just walk up to the door and get in line.

Turkey Carnitas Poutine

Turkey and poutine sounds very interesting. It can either work together really well, or not well at all. Luckily, the turkey worked out nicely in this version of poutine. In the poutine you will find malted french fries topped with slow-cooked turkey carnitas, Yucatan-inspired gravy, cranberry-bacon habanero gelée, crumbled queso blanco, and green onions.

The cranberry-bacon habanero gelée and yucatan-inspired gravy compliment each other nicely. While the yucatan-inspired gravy has a nice kick to it, the cranberry bacon habanero gelée has a certain sweetness to it to balance out the spiciness. The french fries are crisp but not too crisp, and the turkey is not too dry. Don’t think that you will find chunks of turkey in your poutine. What you will get is closer to pulled turkey. The portion size is big enough for one person, or two if both people are not too hungry and just want something to snack on. Overall I would say the Turkey Carnitas Poutine is worth a try.

Specialty Holiday Cocktail

Guests who are 21 years old and above can try the new Specialty Holliday Cocktail at Lamplight Lounge. The cocktail features  aged tequila, mezcal, hibiscus, lemon juice, and is served in a tajin rimmed cup. This drink is just average at best and not really worth getting. This is even more true if you don’t like bitter tasting drinks. On the flip side, people who don’t like very strong drinks might enjoy this seasonal offering because it’s one of the weaker drinks available at Lamplight Lounge.
