Those who wish to travel without anyone else they know aboard the Millennium Falcon will be in luck when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens later this year at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Thanks to the rather odd seating configuration and the need for there to be guests in each seat to operate certain tasks (we assume), the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will offer a single rider option, in addition to the customary FastPass and standby queues. The single rider line will be used to fill empty individual seats in cockpits. This ensures that Disney isn’t sending out ships that don’t have every seat filled, especially given how long lines are expected to be for this attraction.
Now, it is worth mentioning that Disney has constructed rides with the intention of a single rider queue, only to shutter or never open them to guests. Avatar Flight of Passage was supposed to have a single rider line but it never opened. Soarin’ at Epcot had a single rider line for a matter of months when it first opened. Sometimes these things just don’t work out as Disney intends and they don’t use them.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens Summer 2019 at Disneyland Park and Fall 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
