From now until February 18, Disneyland is celebrating Valentine’s Month with a variety of different treats. Specialty churros have become a staple of the park during celebrations, and this time, they’ve introduced a Popping Sugar Churro.

Popping Sugar Churro – $5.75

This churro can be found at the churro cart near Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. They didn’t have a sign up for it when I went, but it was available. I really liked this churro, although I didn’t find it to be very “popping.” It’s definitely more sugar than cinnamon, which I liked. It’s sugary, but somehow not overly sweet. The second I was handed this churro, it started to rain sugar on me, but at least it was pretty pink sugar. Unlike some of the other specialty churros, this one didn’t come with a dipping sauce, which is too bad, because I think it would have paired really well with a marshmallow dipping sauce.

It’s decorated with pink sugar and tiny glitter hearts. While the hearts don’t really add any flavor, they do add to the festiveness of this churro.

The Popping Sugar Churro is a nice variation on the standard churro and a welcome addition to the to the specialty churro lineup.
