Earlier this month, Disney California Adventure Park celebrated its 18th birthday. A lot of changes have happened since the Park opened in 2001. We’ve seen attractions come and go and entire lands transformed into something new. And the transformations continue today. Let’s take a look at the latest progress on Jessie’s Critter Carousel, as well as Grizzly River Run. And in case you didn’t hear, a new Minnie Mouse Balloon Popcorn Bucket is now being offered at popcorn carts throughout the Park.

Jessie’s Critter Carousel Construction
The transformation from King Triton’s Carousel to Jessie’s Critter Carousel is still underway. The latest change we noticed was the addition of detailing to the base of the carousel. There appears to be yellow rope/lasso along the top border, which would fit the cowgirl theme. From what we can tell, the attraction is getting closer to completion. Hopefully, the critters will be arriving soon.
Minnie Mouse Balloon Popcorn Bucket
This new popcorn bucket was released at Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite last week. It costs $18.00 and it is not an AP Exclusive, so no $1 refills are available. We spotted plenty of these still available for purchase throughout Disney California Adventure.
Grizzly River Run Refurbishment
Like clockwork, Grizzly River Run is down for its off-season refurbishment. It should look good as new again when it returns in the Spring. For now, guests can enjoy a quiet walk past the attraction in Grizzly Peak.
The other side of the attraction, visible from Buena Vista Street, is also barren of water and down for refurbishment. This spot is known for the beautiful waterfall that makes for a great picture spot. You can see where the water has taken a toll on the boulders.
Pixar Pier
The Up billboard is still missing from Pixar Pier and it doesn’t look like it will be making a return. When there were four billboards on the Pier, the view of Incredicoaster from the walkway was blocked. Now that the billboard has been removed, guests can get a better look at the Incredibles’ mid-century modern house that makes up the queue of the attraction.
And we couldn’t leave the Park without visiting Bing Bong at his Sweet Stuff Shop. Despite being installed a few months ago, we’re not over how awesome and colorful he looks.
