We’ve been in for quite a rainy year so far in Southern California. Rain often results in lighter crowds at the Disneyland Resort and guests seem to be loving this break from the high-capacity crowds they’re used to. On our most recent rainy day visit, we noticed several big changes at Disneyland Park, including the curbs along Main Street, U.S.A.

Main Street, U.S.A. Curb Updates
As we previously discussed, Disneyland Resort is currently undergoing a number of enhancements, specifically Disneyland park, to continue to deliver a world-class guest experience. The enhancements range from overall beautification of the theme park to maximizing guest comfort and access.
The curb along Main Street, U.S.A., specifically in front of Emporium, has debuted a huge change. In order to improve access with wheelchairs, strollers, and making sure people don’t fall off the curb when it’s so crowded, the curb has been enhanced with slower inclines. Across from Emporium, it appears the same enhancements are being made to the curb in front of Disney Showcase.
Tea Cup Photo-Op Returns to Fantasyland
Guests were pretty sad to see the Tea Cup photo-op in Fantasyland removed a few weeks ago. But at last, it has made its return, fresh out of the dishwasher.
Not much appears to have changed, other than a clean look to the giant cup and saucer. A line of guests was already underway, waiting to have their picture taken by the PhotoPass photographer nearby.
New Wall Art in Mickey’s Toontown
In case you haven’t heard, walls are a huge thing at the Disney Theme Parks. Guests love to take photos in front of colored or themed walls, and there are even social media accounts dedicated to these walls. Previously, Toontown was home to a red and white polka dot wall that gave off strong Minnie Mouse vibes. That wall was recently removed, much to guests’ dismay. But a new wall has finally debuted in its place.
This wall features Mickey and Minnie each holding onto balloons and sharing a heart. Above reads a banner that says “Celebrate,” perhaps for their 90th birthdays. We adore this wall, which can be found next to Minnie’s house.
Astro Orbitor Updates
Astro Orbitor is undergoing quite a big refurbishment at the moment and not much has changed since our last report. It does look like changes have been made to the base of the attraction, which was previously visible just over the wall.
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Our favorite Space Ranger has been missing from the queue of Astro Blasters for some time now and we’re sad to say that he still hasn’t returned. This attraction is in serious need of repair extending beyond the animatronic Buzz in the queue. We hope this will be the start of the good TLC it needs.
Space Mountain FastPass Distribution
Frequent park visitors might notice this small change to the Space Mountain FastPass distribution. Previously, guests were directed to form a line under the sign and walk around to use the kiosks. Now, the ropes that were used to help form a line have been removed and guests can walk freely up to the kiosks. We suspect this has to do with the large number of guests who’d ignore the line when it was still in place.
New Orleans Square Refurbishments
Lastly, we have some changes over in New Orleans Square. French Market is still being refurbished, but guests are still welcome to dine at the restaurant.
And we noticed that one of the doors that separates the Court of Angels in Club 33 from the walkway in New Orleans Square has been removed. Currently, the partition is served by a massive shrubbery wall.
You can see the hinges on the wall where the doors used to be. We’re not sure why the doors were removed in the first place, but we assume they should be back in place soon.
