It’s that magical time of year once again when the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returns. Golden Dreams is a new booth at this year’s festival and while we didn’t love it completely, we do love the addition.

Deconstructed Teriyaki Chicken Musubi with Pineapple Relish – $7.25
This dish was just okay and, to be honest, a little underwhelming. The rice was extremely crunchy and sticky, making it impossible to enjoy. The chicken was dry, too. But the sauce and pineapple relish help with the stickiness of the rice and the dryness of the chicken. Unfortunately, this is just not a dish we would care to purchase again.
Anaheim Chile Relleno Bites with Salsa Verde – $6.75
These bites were much better than the Musubi. The bites themselves and the salsa verde had a kick to each bite, but it was bearable. The bottoms of the bites were a little soggy from sitting in the sauce, though. But the rest of the bites have a crunchy outer layer with a soft, gooey inside. Overall, we enjoyed this dish, especially the salsa verde.
Chocolate-Peanut-Caramel Parfait – $5.50
Wowza! This dessert was chocolatey. We thought it tasted exactly like a Snickers candy bar, which is a good thing if you tend to like Snickers. This review does not, so this dessert wasn’t a favorite. However, that’s not to say that it’s bad. It’s sweet, with an almost overpowering amount of chocolate and peanut butter. Other members of our party loved this dessert, so it’s sure to be a hit among guests.
Yippee! Mickey’s Cotton Candy Soda (non-alcoholic) – $7.00
This drink contains Sprite, cotton candy premium syrup, half-rimmed buttercream with pineapple cotton candy garnish. And we’re shocked to say that we loved it. Sure, it’s basically just glorified Sprite. And syrup didn’t add flavor, only the pretty blue color. But we really enjoyed drinking this and eating the pineapple cotton candy. The cotton candy didn’t have an overpowering taste of pineapple, which we found to be nice. For a little fun with this drink, you can put the cotton candy in the Sprite and watch the drink turn green. We decided to pass on this, because the blue was too pretty.
