A few weeks ago the Memory Orb Wall was installed at the upcoming Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind attraction in Disney California Adventure. And now, we’re seeing even more progress at the final attraction on Pixar Pier. The spinner-base has been installed and four boxed vehicles have arrived.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Updates
For guests unaware, Flik’s Flyers from the now-demolished A Bug’s Land serves as the skeleton of this upcoming attraction. The base and attraction vehicles are reused but transformed to fit the theme of the “new” Pixar Pier attraction. It appears the eight ride vehicles are contained within the four boxes surrounding the base of the attraction. We’re anxious to see what they look like inside.
The original spinner-base has been slightly changed and repainted a vibrant shade of purple.
There are eight arms to the spinner-based of the attraction, which will accommodate the eight ride vehicles.
Not much has changed as far as the exit goes. But just next to the planters, we see that the round purple pieces that will go on top of each arm of the spinner are laid out and ready for installation.
Lastly, the foundations of the tents that will make up the queue of the attraction have changed since our last update. Previously the foundations were unpainted. Now, they’re painted green, purple, yellow, blue, and red to reflect the colors of the five emotions from Inside Out.
Seeing this much progress take place since mid-April gives us hope that Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will be opening soon. While no official date has been announced, it looks like the attraction is on track to open sometime in 2019.
