Located on the burial grounds of The Maliboomer, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will soon take riders on a whimsical journey through human feeling. This family-friendly spinner style attraction has been coming together quickly in the past few weeks, with the Memory Orb wall and attraction spinning base installed recently. While there’s no opening date for the attraction, we are finally seeing some progress.
Upon checking in on the attraction today (all the way up on the Pixar Pal-A-Round), we noticed that the ride vehicle flying orbs were finally installed:
Originally, these were supposed to be balloons, but now it appears they’re more like… nonsensical flying orb things? (At this point, it’s practically on-brand for us to bash Pixar Pier. Bear with us.)
In the film, each orb represents a memory and they are colored according to the emotion of that memory; yellow for Joy, blue for Sadness, red for Anger, purple for Fear, and green for Disgust. Given that there are eight orbs, you can see that they’ve been getting creative with the other orb colors/themes.
The rainbow-hued one might be themed to Bing Bong, or Imagination. We’ll see what they do with the other extra orbs.
Those tabs sticking out of the orbs are where the swings/baskets for the attraction will be suspended on. Passengers will ride inside these as the attraction spins.
Here’s a closer look at the attraction from the ground.
If this moves along as quickly as Jessie’s Critter Carousel, we should be seeing an opening very soon, if not by the time Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens.
Stay tuned for the latest construction updates as Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind comes to completion.
