Our beloved Disneyland Park icon, Sleeping Beauty Castle, has been under quite a refurbishment for almost four months. After closing on January 17th of this year, the walkthrough is expected to finally reopen on May 28th. With that date approaching in a few weeks, we finally get a sneak peek at the fresh color scheme of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Several castle spires have been uncovered, revealing vibrant blue and pink hues.
First, the very tip-top spire of the castle has been uncovered. What a tease! But that’s not all that’s free of scrim and scaffolding. More spires and walls to the left and right side of the castle are free as well.
And the brick walls of the tunnel leading past Fantasy Faire have been repainted with cool blue tones.
The path that leads by Snow White’s Wishing Well is currently closed. However, it should match the Fantasy Faire tunnel when it’s open.
The benches to either side of the Castle have been painted to match the cool blue bricks on the Castle.
And lastly, on the backside of the Castle, a small portion of brick on the exterior of the Castle Holiday Shoppe has been painted to tie in with the cool blue of the Castle.
The beautification of Sleeping Beauty Castle has been long overdue after the damage was done to the roof during the 60th Diamond Anniversary at Disneyland Resort. The blue and pink color scheme will stay the same, however, the new look will feature cool blue brick, vibrant pink walls, and a more royal blue roof. Plus, a layer of pixie dust will be added, to make the castle even more magical.
Are you loving this more vibrant color scheme?
