It’s been a few months coming, but it seems Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is just about ready to open at Pixar Pier, and we decided to check in on its current emotional state to see how things were progressing this close to the potential open. Last we checked, the attraction had ride vehicles, lighting and speakers, and a purple railing surrounding the attraction, but now it seems we have a brand-new logo, as well as fun new characters!
Abstract flowers line the attraction’s courtyard, with the Inside Out logo prominently displayed against a purple background. Next to it, Joy can barely contain her giddiness.
You can see more abstract fixtures placed throughout, plus cute sticker-like decals slapped onto the ride vehicle orbs. It’s like Riley came in and gave the ride her own personal touch.
The ride vehicle baskets themselves have gotten some fun artwork, with the rainbow orb getting an appropriate Unicorn makeover, and Bing Bong proudly displayed on the pink “Imagination” orb.
Check out that Anger basket! It’s in flames. You can see Fear in the back with an argyle purple basket design.
Disgust gets her own green basket with funky flower designs. It’ll be interesting to see if Sadness gets her own basket design, too.
A closer look at Joy bursting with happiness. She’ll be welcoming riders as they pass by. According to concept art, Sadness should be wallowing right next to her.
But my personal favorite is Anger, probably yelling about Pixar Pier.
Tell us how you really feel.
It’s nice to see that they’re actually painting the walls adjacent to the attraction in shades of pink, purple, and magenta to match the Emotional Whirlwind’s overall color scheme.
I love that nothing is just one color.
While no date has been specified yet, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is slated to open sometime this summer. Are you excited for this final attraction on Pixar Pier to debut? If you pass by at the right time, you might catch the attraction during its various testing phases.
