REVIEW: Goofy-Inspired Cookies ‘N Milk Macaron Available at Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland Park

It’s been a couple of months since Jolly Holiday Bakery rolled out some new desserts. The last two we reviewed were the Mini Lemon Blueberry Donald Bundt Cake and Minnie Mouse Inspired Brownie. We loved both those options, but we can’t help but crave more character-themed treats. Today, we spotted a new addition to the window display in Jolly Holiday and it looks like they’re still taking inspiration from Disney characters with this new Goofy-inspired Cookies ‘N Milk Macaron.

When we purchased this macaron, the Cast Member said it was a good, but really interesting treat and we couldn’t agree more. Interesting is a good way to put it, for lack of a better word.

The filing isn’t your typical macaron filling. It’s made of a round layer of cookie dough with a milk-flavored filling in the center. We’re really at a loss for words on how to describe the filling. It doesn’t really taste like much of anything, but it isn’t bad either. It’s cold and has a thick, gelatinous consistency to it. It’s different from any of their previous macarons, which usually have a buttercream filling.

Honestly, the best part of this macaron is the cookie dough. And it’s still so compact that you could just take it out of the center and eat it by itself. As far as the two outer cookies, they were decent. The consistency was baked right, but they were messy and required a lot of hand washing to get the blue out.

To be quite honest, this macaron wasn’t bad but it’s probably their most forgettable one yet. Even the cookie dough center can’t make up for how underwhelming this dessert was as a whole.

Overall, if you’re craving a macaron in the traditional sense of the French dessert, then skip this and stick with the Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron. It continues to be their best macaron of all time. However, if you’re in the mood to try something a little different, then you might enjoy this Goofy-inspired Cookies ‘N Milk Macaron.

  1. That is sad to read that the quality is sub par and it’s worth skipping. This is one of the prettiest macarons I have ever seen. A perfect representation of Goofy. It seems like Disneyland has a much better culinary dept. than WDW. The treats, churros, and most everything else just looks better. They have good cook/chefs at WDW but they are held back by executive chefs, mgrs, and such. They are very restricted and not given much opportunity for creativity. I have been told this by more than one cook.
