Seasonal items frequently come and go at the Disneyland Resort, and not all of them are winners. But when they are, it hurts to remember that they’re just seasonal. So when we find a winner, we highly encourage guests to try them while they can. At Disneyland Park, Bengal Barbecue has a seasonal Poke Bowl on the menu and without a doubt, this item falls into the winner category.

Poke Bowl – $13.49

This seasonal item is made of sushi-grade Ahi Tuna with edamame-cucumber slaw, sesame-seaweed salad, pickled ginger, fresh avocado, garnished with crispy fried wonton strips, and green onions. It’s served with spicy mayo and ginger-lemongrass soy dressing.

It’s served deconstructed, which is one of the downsides to this meal. It makes for a pretty presentation, but it’s a pain to mix it all together. The rice is a sticky clump that was difficult to break apart and mix with the other ingredients. The ginger-lemongrass soy dressing did help, but not much.

However, once is it all mixed together, this poke bowl is surprisingly good. And it’s a much larger portion of food than it looks. The Ahi Tuna is good quality, but I do wish there was a bit more of it. I was surprised by how much avocado was included in this dish, as that’s usually a topping that gets underserved. The pickled ginger might be the best inclusion, as it gave each bite a punch of spicy flavor. And the spicy mayo and soy dressing really pulled all the various ingredients together into one tasty bowl.

Overall, I highly recommend this Poke Bowl for anyone looking for a fresh meal at Disneyland Park. Compared to all the fried and processed meals available at most restaurants in the Park, this item is greatly appreciated.
