After months of anticipation, the Pixar Pals parking structure is finally open at the Disneyland Resort. Additional parking has been needed for quite some time, so the addition of 5000 more parking spaces is certainly welcome. But one of the greatest features of the new structure isn’t expected to open until mid-September. Here’s a look at the latest progress to the pedestrian bridge that will make walking from Pixar Pals to Downtown Disney much easier for guests later this fall.

Pixar Pals Pedestrian Bridge Progress

Back in June, the pedestrian bridge was installed overnight. And despite appearances, there’s still quite a bit of work to be done before this bridge will be accessible.

Things are fairly quiet now that the structure has opened and we aren’t seeing any workers out during the day. Scaffolding still stands underneath the part of the bridge that attaches to Pixar Pals.

Across the street, there’s more visible construction. It looks like the basic foundation of the bridge that winds through to Downtown Disney has been established.

But the foundation is mostly just wood and concrete right now, so it’s not close to looking complete.

The third level of Pixar Pals, the Cars level, provides a great view of the pedestrian bridge. When it’s finished, it looks like the bridge will wind to the left, behind the tall foliage. The rest of the lot is just dirt right now.

And it looks like only half the bridge has had roofing installed. We imagine that the rest will be covered, as well. This shade over the bridge will likely be appreciated during the warm, sunny days we get often in Southern California.

Again, from the look of it, construction is likely happening at night and not during the day, as it was leading up to the opening of the structure.
