Droid Depot Scrap Metal Parts Policy Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Disneyland Park

R-Series and BB-Series Droid Parts Now Being Sold Separately at Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

In June, we reported that Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park had developed a new policy for guests looking to further customize their lightsaber. For $19.99 each, guests could purchase “scrap metal” pieces, AKA lightsaber hilt pieces. Now, we’re seeing the same policy regarding “scrap metal” (or scrap parts) pieces extended to Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

A Cast Member confirmed with us that guests who have built an R-Series or BB-Series are able to buy two additional pieces of scrap metal. However, there are conditions to the policy. Guests can only purchase additional scrap metal within 48 hours of building their droid. And guests must show their receipt at time of purchase.

Unfortunately, this means that if you built your droid prior to yesterday, you will not be able to purchase additional scrap metal pieces at Droid Depot to further customize your unit.

Do keep in mind that the cost to build a droid is $99.99 per astromech droid unit, plus tax.

Furthermore, this conditional policy has now been adapted at Savi’s Workshop. Guests looking to purchase scrap metal pieces will only be able to do so within 48 hours of building their lightsaber and will need to show their receipt.

How do you feel about this policy? Do you think it will help with the stock issues Disney is having in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?
