Spook-tacular Halloween Event Lineup Announced for Disneyland Resort

Halloween is one of the best times to visit the Disney Parks to experience all of the spooky a events with all of your favorite Disney characters. Disneyland Resort will be partaking in the Halloween festivities from September 6 through October 31 at both Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure. Let’s take a look at all the not-so-scary events that they’ll be hosting!

Disneyland Park

At Disneyland Park, expect to see a few Halloween overlays, starting with Main Street, U.S.A. getting into the spirit with their decorations and hosting the Pumpkin Festival, which features a giant Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern. Haunted Mansion will receive its holiday transformation inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, soon after celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer. “Halloween Screams”, a projection and special effects show will also light up the night, adding spooky fun, as well as firework enhancements on select nights.

Disney California Adventure Park

Disney California Adventure is receiving a spooky overlay as well, thanks to Oogie Boogie, featuring Halloween decorations along Buena Vista Street, such as a 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman and creepy bats flying around the facade of Carthay Circle. But the Halloween fun doesn’t stop there. Venture into Cars Land to celebrate Haul-O-Ween at Radiator Springs, with transformations such as Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. Don’t forget to check out Taneleer Tivan’s latest exhibition as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! becomes Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark.

Paradise Gardens Park will be celebrating the spirit of Día de los Muertos. You can join Miguel from “Coco” and the storytellers of Plaza de la Familia as they take you through the story of how Miguel came to honor such a special holiday in his culture.

The brand new Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will debut on September 17 and will continue for twenty select nights at Disney California Adventure park.  This separate-ticket party treats guests to multiple new experiences that are fun for the entire family, from the new “World of Color” spectacular – “Villainous!,” to an interactive “Descendants”-inspired dance party, a stage show with Mickey Mouse, and a mysterious Disney villains walk-through experience.

We know we’ve just celebrated the Fourth of July, but we can’t wait to start celebrating Halloween with all these cool festivities. What are you most looking forward to?

  1. Seriously can’t believe they are no longer doing Mickey’s Halloween Party in the main Disneyland park. That was the event I’ve taken my wife and our niece to every year for the past decade because it lets us (as ‘adults’) dress up for Halloween AT THE PARK.

CA adventure is just not Disneyland. Especially after the parkwide pricing hikes.

Super disappointed that the Disney experience we’ve chosen to pay for for so long no longer exists.
