Only a couple of weeks are left until the Halloween season kicks off at the Disneyland Resort. We can feel the excitement in the air, especially now that Pumpkin Spice is back at Starbucks and The Haunted Mansion has closed for the holiday overlay. Here’s a look at what else is happening in Disneyland Park, like an Adventureland refurbishment and low crowds.
Disneyland Park
Main Street, U.S.A.
Upon entering Disneyland Park, we spot Ariel greeting a line of guests.
With Halloween season upon us, the newest Minnie Ears and Halloween Minnie and Mickey plush are now being sold at the entrance.
Happy Haunts Materialize The Art of The Haunted Mansion is still on display at the Disney Gallery on Main Street. We’re not sure how long this art display will be around, but we assume through the Halloween season.
This year, Starbucks has released a new pumpkin-flavored drink: Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. We had to grab one of these at the Starbucks on Main Street before exploring the rest of the Park. This is a great new drink for those of you who find Pumpkin Spice Lattes to be a little too sweet.
Inside Disney Clothiers, a new Elsa-themed top is on sale in youth sizes and costs $29.99. This should get the little ones excited for “Frozen 2” this fall.
We also found this adorable and soft Minnie Macaron Purse for $24.99. This can fit a fair amount of stuff inside, so it’s a good option for both kids and adults who love macarons.
And just outside the shops, the Dapper Dans greet a few guests before departing for the morning.
Tomorrowland
The entrance to Tomorrowland is still under refurbishment, with the removal of the “French fry” rocks underway on one side. This is just the beginning for a massive overhaul of the Land.
The rest of Tomorrowland is pretty empty, with very short wait times for most of the attractions.
Fantasyland
One of the tracks of Matterhorn Bobsleds is still down, due to the piece of rockwork that fell off a few weeks ago. The portion of the mountain that’s missing rockwork is still covered with scrim.
Over by Snow White’s Wishing Well, we spot Aladdin and Jasmine greeting young guests.
Inside the Castle Holiday Shoppe, this adorable new Chip and Dale ornament is available for $24.99. They look so cute in their matching cowboy hats as they roast marshmallows.
Similar to Tomorrowland, Fantasyland is pretty empty this morning for the most part.
But it does look like long lines are expected for Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Ropes and umbrellas extended past the queue entrance and along Storybook Land Canals.
Meanwhile, guests can practically walk right onto it’s a small world.
Captain Hook is out once again meeting guests by Red Rose Taverne. He has made frequent appearances in Fantasyland this summer, especially in this spot.
Mickey’s Toontown
Mickey’s Toontown is a ghost town this morning. But hopefully, that’s something that will change in a couple of years, as the land is expected to undergo a refurbishment in preparation for the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
For the first time in a few weeks, there isn’t a crowd of people wanting to have their photo taken with Kylo Ren’s TIE Echelon.
But guests are still very much intrigued by the Stormtroopers roaming around Batuu.
This is the first time since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened to the public without a reservation that we have seen this many people building their own droid. It’s usually pretty empty, but today every station was full and there was a line of guests waiting to pay and build their droid.
Perhaps that has something to do with the small stock of Droid Backpacks that are back in stock?
On our way out, we spot Rey leading a group of younglings to the Marketplace.
New Orleans Square
In New Orleans Square, there are still quite a lot of Host a Ghost Jars available for purchase.
Unfortunately, The Haunted Mansion has closed in preparation for the holiday season. The attraction will reopen as Haunted Mansion Holiday on September 6. Jack Skellington and his ghostly crew will take over this estate once again.
Over in Port Royal Curios and Curiosities, we spot this ghoulish pullover top on sale for $49.99. It features a portrait of Constance Hatchaway, with the quote “Don’t Make Me Axe You Twice.”
The rest of New Orleans Square is fairly empty and peaceful. Overall, Disneyland Park is still seeing low crowds.
Adventureland
Last but not least, we have an Adventureland refurbishment update. Earlier this year, the entrance to the land was widened and the marquee was switched out. Now it looks like more work is being done yet again.
Part of this new Adventureland refurbishment appears to be removing more foliage around the pond between this land and Frontierland.
Those are all the updates we have from Disneyland Park for now. Check us out on Twitter and Instagram for more information from the Disneyland Resort.
