Secret menu items have been quite trendy at the Disneyland Resort this summer. Some have been better than others, but overall we’ve been loving the chance to try new dishes during our Park visits. And it looks like Paradise Garden Grill is getting in on the fun too, with new Gyro Fries.
Gyro Fries – $12.99
French fries are topped with sliced beef, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, pepperoncini, kalamata olives, chickpeas, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce. As if that’s not enough, warm pita bread is served on the side.
This new addition might be one of the best quick-service entrees I’ve tried at Disney California Adventure in a long time. Everything tasted fresh and paired really nicely with the fries. The pepperoncinis add quite a kick that almost borders on too spicy. But somehow it works, and the other toppings really balance out that kick from the pepper.
The beef wasn’t too dry and I felt there was a generous portion. And the selection of toppings couldn’t be better. The only thing I’d want more of is tzatziki sauce, but only because it’s so good that I couldn’t get enough. With all of the toppings, it didn’t fully penetrate down to the fries.
The Gyro Fries are quite large and can easily be shared between two people. You won’t see this new item listed on the display menu at Paradise Garden Grill, only on the Disneyland App menu. But don’t let that stop you from giving these a try the next time you visit Disney California Adventure.
