A swinging wake to celebrate The Haunted Mansion’s 50th anniversary wouldn’t be complete without specialty food offerings. And Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square in Disneyland has two offerings we’re just dying to try. You can satisfy your sweet tooth for a limited time with the new Blackberry Midnight Julep and “Honey… I Do” Beignets.
Blackberry Midnight Julep – $4.49
This twist on the classic drink consists of blackberry, citrus, and mint, complete with a lychee “moon.” Right off the bat, this drink seems off. It’s not the dark blackberry color as advertised. In fact, it more so resembles the seasonal Watermelon Julep.
Looks aside, this is our favorite Julep yet. Flavor-wise, it’s very blackberry forward with a hint of mint. If you’re looking for cute photos for Instagram, be warned that the lychee doesn’t really cooperate for pictures. However, this drink is really good and refreshing. We highly recommend it.
“Honey… I Do” Beignets – $5.49 for 3 Pack, $8.99 for 6 Pack
These sweet beignets are topped with honey praline and powdered sugar. And these beignets are good! They’re ever so slightly sweet, but well complimented by a dip in the honey. They’re not the best seasonal flavor we’ve had, but they’re far from the worst. If you like beignets, you’ll want to give these a try.
Look alive! And drag your body into Disneyland Park if you’d like to try these items at Mint Julep Bar before they disappear into the afterlife.
