We’re back at the Lucky Fortune Cookery in Disney California Adventure! Actually, we don’t come here often. For years, this has been one of the worst eateries at the park, and we tended to avoid it often. However, the Pacific Rim foods restaurant has officially junked their trademark take-out boxes and debuted an entire new menu, including ramen, bahn mi, and more. Let’s check it out.

New Menu at Lucky Fortune Cookery
Szechuan Chicken – $12.99
with Sautéed Vegetables and Steamed Rice
The Szechuan Chicken is the winner here. It’s actually spicy, with tender chicken pieces coated in a flavorful and legitimately spicy sauce. (Did we mention it was spicy?) We’d have it again, to be honest.
Teriyaki Chicken – $12.99
with Sautéed Vegetables and Steamed Rice
The Teriyaki Chicken is nice. It’s the safer option if you don’t like spice. The rice is well-cooked with all these dishes, and the plating is rather gorgeous for a counter service.
Beef Bulgogi Wrap – $12.99
with Garlic-flavored Chips
The Beef Bulgogi Wrap is huge and packed with sweet and tangy beef inside. It’s very good, and a great option if you don’t want chicken.
Do note that the garlic chips are quite good here, with a subtle garlic flavor.
Chicken Wings – $7.99
Korean-style Garlic-Serrano Chili Sauce
The wings are definitely garlicky, with a little spice to them. However, these aren’t worth $2 each. They are solid, though.
Pot Stickers – $6.49

The pot stickers are good and we really liked the dipping sauce. It tasted like a soy sauce, with a bit of green onion.
The pot stickers tasted like something you could buy at a store and fry at home, but that doesn’t make them bad. They’re better than I would have expected from Disney.
Pork Ramen – $14.49
Nori, Roasted Corn and Green Onion
Ramen Toppings – $3.49
spicy Miso, Soft-boiled Egg, and Sautéed Mushrooms
The ramen is great! Is it $18 great? That’s still debateable.
The toppings are sort of over-priced, but the spicy miso is incredible.
It can be a little too spicy for some people, so don’t go too heavy on it at first. Add a little at a time. The egg yolk was still runny, too. We weren’t expecting it, but we really liked it.
The meat was also pretty soft and easy to tear up with the chopsticks.
If you’re a ramen person, for a Disney Park, this is pretty good. It’s also very filling, so keep that in mind if you aren’t super hungry when you order this.
Kid’s Vegan Banh Mi – $7.99
All kid’s meals are served with steamed rice, vegetables, and a small milk or Dasani water
The Kids Vegan Bahn Mi is just okay, and might not be an option that kids love if they’re picky eaters.
The sauce is very prominent and the flavor takes over everything else. It’s much better when eaten with the rice on the side. The bread is super soft, at least.
Vietnamese Iced Coffee – $5.99
a bold robust Vietnamese Coffee with Sweet Condensed Milk served over Ice
The Vietnamese coffee is good. It was on the verge of tasting like a plain iced coffee, to be honest. It was still great, and it’s a very large serving for the price.
Japanese Mule – $12.50
Japanese Whiskey, Ginger Beer and Simple Syrup
The mule is ginger beer heavy, so fair warning if you aren’t into ginger. It’s a very strong, nice-sized drink, and it’s perfect for a hot day like today since it’s super refreshing. One downside is that it does get rather syrupy at the bottom. (Starts good, ends bad.) Do note that it’s kind of funny that the menu actually shows this as being served in an actual copper mule cup.
Overall
Overall, this is a vast improvement. Days ago, I would have told you that I would never eat here again in my life. It’s not in my top 3 counter service restaurants at Disney California Adventure, but it certainly is a place I would eat at if someone asks or I was in the mood for it.
