REVIEW: New Rainbow Cake and Hoppy Pride Pilsner at Disneyland Resort

In celebration of Gay Days, Disneyland Resort has rolled out several rainbow pride themed food and drinks. A few are available resort-wide at several locations, and all are photo worthy.

Rainbow Cake – $5.79

This is as fun as at looks. While not the best piece of cake we’ve had, it was still a good piece of cake. It has colorful layers of cake between white chocolate mousse topped with buttercream and rainbow sprinkles.

The layers stay fairly intact. We enjoyed this as it was sweet, but mostly just tasted of vanilla.

The rainbow cake can be found at Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park and in Disney California Adventure at: Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, Paradise Garden Grill, Flo’s V8 Café, Cocina Cucamonga.

Hoppy Pride Pilsner – $10.50

DCA Hoppy Pride 03

This hoppy beer is brewed by Shipyard and it is light and fun. It is on the hoppier side, so if you do not like IPAs, you may want to skip this… but it was truly a mash-up of pilsner mixed with a hoppy aftertaste. While you can’t keep the can, cast members will let you take a photo of the rainbow pride can. This beer can be found at three locations across Disney California Adventure: Bayside Brews, Paradise Garden Grill and Angry Dogs.

Be sure to grab this to wash down your rainbow cake or any of the other great rainbow pride offerings across the park. These are only available through October 6th so head over this weekend!

  1. Can’t wait to see what is offered during the celebrations of the other 6 vices….”Lust” should be especially interesting! Shame there aren’t any celebrations of the virtues.

    • That’s not one of the Seven Deadly Sins. If you’re going to be religiously outraged at least know what your talking about.

      • I believe he was referring to Pride, which is absolutely one of the 7 deadly sins. However, I suspect it was a poorly executed attempt at humor that is now backfiring spectacularly, as evidenced by the backlash.
