Disneyland to Test Central Fastpass Kiosks for Tomorrowland Starting October 15th; Will Not Print Paper Fastpass Reminders

Disney is preparing to test a new method for obtaining Fastpasses at Disneyland. Currently, guests have the option to pay $15 to purchase MaxPass to make Fastpass reservations on the Disneyland App or to scan their ticket at the Fastpass kiosk by the attraction for free.

This new method would eliminate the individual kiosks by the attractions in favor of more central touch screen kiosks for multiple attractions. Tomorrowland will begin testing this method next week for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Hyperspace Mountain, and Star Tours with kiosks located in front of the Tomorrowland Theater. Details are as follows:

  • The test of the new method will start on October 15, 2019
  • Guests will no longer visit individual attractions for their Fastpass reservation, instead, they will be directed to the central kiosks
  • Kiosks will be located in front of the Tomorrowland Theater
  • Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Hyperspace Mountain, and Star Tours will be a part of this test
  • The central kiosks will not print a paper reminder like the kiosks by the attractions do
  • Guests can link their ticket to the Disneyland App to view their Fastpass reservations

Of course, this is just a test, so guest feedback will be an important factor in whether this method is rolled out across Disneyland.

Stay tuned to WDWNT for updates on this story and many more.

  1. Hope it will work.

FP reminder are juste wasted paper at this time. If you can check your selection on the app or on the central kiosk everything will be fine maybe except the line to get a FP…

It will never happen but if MaxPass would become the regular complimentary FP it will solve every problems.

  2. I hope a lot of “in person feedback” comes from grandparents and people who maybe do not have smartphones – I always feel for the people who can’t or won’t use the app (and are running out of places to sit down in the parks but that’s a different issue). Some people like to keep getting those paper FP reminders because they’re not using MaxPass or the app at all to get around the park with their grandkids, etc. I’m glad this test starts the day after I’m done with DL for the year (I get there Sunday and come home early Tuesday). Sounds good for the smartphone people whose phones don’t get glitches, and DL’s wi-fi still needs to improve.

    • It isn’t just for your smartphone, they are linked to your ticket either a paper ticket or a pass. You don’t need a smartphone for this to work… all you do is scan your ticket at the kiosk and at the ride. So grandparents will be alright lol

  3. Wish all the FastPasses were digital and FREE in Disneyland so that you didn’t have a walk all over the park. Also, I always forget when my return time is. Nice that it will be on the app but not everyone uses a smartphone and the wi-fi is really spotty there. I have problems with the data there , thanks Xfinity Mobile. Guess I could always write it down but that’s hassle in the park.
