PHOTOS: “Swappable” Signage Returns to FuelRod Kiosks at Disneyland Resort Parks and Hotels: Swapping Fees Reversed

As the decision to charge $3 for FuelRod swaps has been reversed, the phrase “swappable” has returned to FuelRod kiosks across the Disneyland Resort’s parks and resort hotels.

So far, we’ve seen the signage around Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Kiosks that hadn’t been re-skinned with the $3 swapping fee have simply had their signs indicating the change removed, while those that had been re-skinned have had signage installed indicating the free swaps.

It’s likely that the re-skinned kiosks will receive new skins in the coming days, unless the swapping fee is re-issued at a later date. Prior to the decision to charge for swaps, the kiosks said “free unlimited swapping.”

The decision to charge for swaps was canceled as backlash grew from guests and a class action lawsuit was filed against Tricopian, Inc. and SaveMe Batteries North America, the companies behind the FuelRod portable charger and swapping machines at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort.
