The holidays have made their way over the jungles of Adventureland at Disneyland Park, and so has the new Yellow Rice Curry Plate! This item is only available from November 8th, 2019 to January 6th, 2020.
Here’s a look at the seasonal Yellow Curry Rice Plate.
Yellow Curry Rice Plate at Bengal Barbecue (Outback Vegetable Skewer and Herb-marinated Tofu, served on a bed of Jasmine Rice, Peas, and Green Onions, with a side of Citrus Miso-Slaw) -$16.99
The plate is made up of an outback vegetable skewer topped with a piece of herb grilled tofu. The plant-based meat substitute looks like it could be grilled chicken at first glance due to the nice grill marks. While I’m not a connoisseur of tofu, for a vegetarian option, I thought it was delicious. The texture was both dense and soft. We were able to cut through it smoothly. It didn’t have too much of a taste except for the bits of herb.
We lifted the tofu to take a look at the veggies. This skewer was delightful! It had vegetables such as zucchini, onion, tomato, and potato. They were cooked perfectly, and the herb seasoning complimented the vegetables very nicely. Our favorite was the zucchini; it had great tang with hints of sweetness that zucchini sometimes lacks.
The rice was cooked well and was the ideal addition to this plate. The green onions that topped the bed of rice added a nice bit of flavor while still being mild.
The slaw that accompanied the dish was also another great side to the plate. It contained red onions, peas, and carrots. It furnished the meal with some extra freshness while keeping with the overall flavoring.
The curry sauce that was presented on top of the plate was delectable and tasted excellent mixed with any of the other sides. It had a tart taste and with the perfect consistency, not too watery and not too thick.
This plate was something I truly enjoyed and definitely would consider it one of the best vegetarian meal options in the park.
