SHOP: New Customizable “The Mandalorian” Baby Yoda Shoes and Apparel Now Available on shopDisney
May the force be with your creativity as you build your perfect t-shirt that shows your love for “The Child.” New Baby Yoda customizable apparel is now available online through a Disney partnership with Zazzle. In addition to the t-shirt, you can grab a new pair of “customizable” Baby Yoda shoes.
The Mandalorian Orange Child Pattern Espadrilles (Adult Sizes) – $89.95
The shoes feature a few different shots of Baby Yoda. In one look, he is in his pod surrounded by a blue outline. In another, he looks to the left and has a yellow outline. Finally, there is an image of The Child looking forward and surrounded by a blue outline.
The orange, blue, yellow and gray coloring goes nicely together and will make a galactic statement in your wardrobe. There’s no subtlety here! The beige stiching gives the shoe a very casual look.
However, it would be a bit of a stretch to call these customizable. The only thing you can customize is the inside liner; your color options there are black, white, pink, gray, orange, blue, red, yellow, green, purple and brown.
Here’s a fun fact about the shoes. The style is called Afridrilles, named so because it is inspired by the Spanish espadrille style but is handmade in Maai Mahiu, Kenya in Africa. The sale of these support UBUNTU, an organization that gives back to health and education programs in Kenya.
For women, sizes 5 – 10.5 are available. For men, the shoes run through sizes 8 to 13; there are only some half sizes. For your best pick of sizing, order ASAP. I know from experience that fandoms go crazy for themed shoes.
The Child | 50 Years Young Apparel (Various Sizes) – Ranges from $14.95 to $52.95
This next option gives you much more freedom to customize. But let’s focus on the core design first.
Fifty. Years. Young. As we learned in “The Mandalorian,” Baby Yoda is in fact 50 and definitely not a baby by human standards. While this wording itself and the image of The Child can’t be edited, you have many options for the shirt style and text color.
The easiest way we found to customize this is by first picking the style of top you would like to make. Then, pick your size, color and print process. Finally, click “Customize It.” From the customization screen, you can pick the size and placement of the image. Again, Disney doesn’t seem to give you any option to change colors or add any additional images. If you can figure this out, let us know.
If you want a more straight-forward approach to ordering, just pick the your, style, color and print process. Then, simply add the shirt your shopping bag.
Below, you’ll fine a few styles we played around with.
Here’s a blue tee with the design taking up the front.
And we put together this nice hoodie for chilly Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge winter nights.
We thought we’d also build something for our friend’s kid.
There is no information yet if Zazzle will expand to other products at shopDisney.com. If these shirts are a success, we won’t be surprised to see Disney use the system for any yet-to-be-seen Disney+ trends.
Have fun building your perfect Baby Yoda top, onesie or hoodie!
