The Blacksmith and Cider Mill on Tom Sawyer Island in Disneyland will undergo refurbishment soon. According to a permit filed with the City of Anaheim, the work will include work on props in the building and fixing rotting wood on the building.
Here’s the excerpt of the permit:
Disney – Frontierland, Tom Sawyer’s Island / Cider Mill and Blacksmith shop – Tenant Improvement: Remove and reinstall scenic prop platform and reinstall and reroof 1,280 sq.ft composition shingles and replace damage wood as necessary.
A lot of the work sounds to be cosmetic and not necessarily a theme change like in 2007 when it was changed to include Pirates of the Caribbean. With the permit being filed yesterday, we would expect work to begin soon.
