We first saw “Magic Happens” during the daytime during its initial debut yesterday, but today, the parade went all out on its official, grand debut day, including an afternoon performance and a special, never-before-seen evening showing that dazzled guests all the way down Main Street. While the afternoon showings are best for appreciating the performers’ costumes and makeup, we’ve found that at night, all of the parade floats really come alive, and even the smaller, awkward ones from the grand finale sequence seemed to take on a new presence.
My personal favorites were Sorcerer Mickey, whose hat-shaped float lights up with shimmering stars, plus the inscriptions on the Moana float, and of course, the far more romantic setting for Tiana and Naveen in the Princess and the Frog-themed mangrove float.

If you’ve been binge-listening the song these past two days like I have, you’ve probably noticed some fun nods throughout the lyrics, with the finale score featuring musical nods to past Disney Parks nighttime spectaculars and parades, like the theme from the “Remember the Magic” parade, as well as “Wishes” and “Remember… Dreams Come True”.
