Every week is a busy week when it comes to Disney news. To help you keep up with all the updates coming out of Walt Disney World and other Disney resorts, here’s WDWNT’s weekly recap of the Disney news from February 10–16!
Walt Disney World
- Price increases have hit the resort again: Park Hopper ticket add-on prices have gone up, Annual Pass prices have risen and the price of a private VIP tour has increased to as much as $750 an hour
- A new water parks and sports add-on ticket option has been announced
- A teenager was arrested for abandoning a stolen car near Magic Kingdom this week, and on Wednesday cast member transit was impacted as there was significant police activity behind Magic Kingdom due to an armed suspect
- A super new “The Incredibles” bus wrap has been sighted flying around Walt Disney World
- This weekend, a third-party bus caught fire at the Transportation and Ticket Center
Magic Kingdom

- In construction and development this week in Magic Kingdom, new Walt Disney World Railroad track has been installed, and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover speed ramp reopened after its refurbishmet

EPCOT

- It was also revealed that Phineas and Ferb Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure will end February 17
- In construction and development this week at EPCOT, large decorative pieces now encircle the base of the park entrance fountain, the MouseGear & Centorium buildings have been completely demolished, themed drinking fountains and landscaping has been added to the France pavilion, new directional signage has been installed as the entire park center closes, temporary park exit signs have gone up and rooftop solar panel mounts have been installed at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- A new logo has been revealed for the upcoming nighttime spectacular “HarmonioUS,” and it incorporates the classic EPCOT logo
- We reviewed the new vegan Blackberry Cupcake from Sunshine Seasons and the new Turkey and Mozzerella Sandwich and Chopped Chicken Salad with Agave Lime Vinaigrette from Eats at the EPCOT Experience
- The new park guidemap indicates that Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts and Barbecue and Taste Track will open imminently, shows new pathways and more
- New World Discovery FastPass+ kiosks have been unveiled near Test Track, while a bright purple moon is now part of the Mission: SPACE solar system
- Valentine’s Day at EPCOT saw a set of new attraction-themed photo props pop up across the park
- The walkup bar menu has been revealed for Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

- “The Mighty Ducks” series has been officially announced for Disney+, with Lauren Graham set to star
- The “Rogue One” spinoff series will start filming this year
- Season 2 of “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings” premiered on Disney+ February 14
- Production has begun on the second season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” and we are excited to see a production of “Beauty and the Beast” come to East High

- Disney Fairy Tale Weddings is set to debut a collection of princess-inspired bridal dresses
- A recently filed patent application indicates Disney could be developing a technology for interactive games on vehicles, possibly to be implemented on Walt Disney World buses
- A former Walt Disney World cast member has filed a lawsuit against the company after being fired for reporting workplace sexual harassment
- As Bombardier are in talks to sell off their rail division, there is a chance potential new monorails for Walt Disney World could be further delayed
