All Of The NEW “Magic Happens” Parade Specialty Food Offerings (With Reviews!) Available at Disneyland

Magic is happening with the debut of the newest daytime spectacular, “Magic Happens”, at Disneyland park. With the help of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, this incredible new parade comes to life with stunning floats, energetic music, artistic costumes, and now, thanks to some fabulous Disneyland chefs, a few deliciously magical eats and treats.

These brand new bites were created to celebrate the latest addition to the park’s lineup of fun entertainment offerings. Since the parade marches right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., it’s only fitting that these items can be found at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, Refreshment Corner, and Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. Here is a full list of all the items available, plus the new “Magic Happens” Dining Package at Plaza Inn.

Esquite Hot Dog – $11.99

Refreshment Corner

07 Esquite Hot Dog MagicHappens2020.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=668&ixlib=php 1.2On the savory side, Refreshment Corner is serving up the Esquite Hot Dog – a foot-long hot dog with crushed corn chips and corn esquite mix topped with cotija cheese and chili-cayenne powder and served with your choice of chips or fresh fruit.

This hot dog is not too spicy, but definitely has a nice kick! The cayenne powder is what is really brings this dish to life. You can find our full review here.

“Remember Me” Hand Pie – $5.49

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

The hand pie is beautifully decorated with orange-colored chocolate shavings made to look like marigold petals, soft purple icing, rainbow sprinkles, and sugar Catrina skulls from the Día de los Muertos traditions highlighted in the movie.

Disneyland truly excels when it comes to Instagrammable treats, and when it comes to these hand pies, they really stand out. There’s even edible glitter on them! You can find our full review here.

Island Pork Toasted Sandwich – $10.99

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

Jolly Holiday Sandwich 3.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=668&ixlib=php 1.2

We have another savory item, the Island Pork Toasted Sandwich. With the arrival of the “Magic Happens” parade at Disneyland, we now have the perfect sandwich to sit and eat as it passes by.

Likely themed after the impressive Moana float in the parade (sorry, Pua) this sandwich includes Black Forest ham, kalua smoked pork, Monterey Jack cheese, pineapple relish, and cilantro served with house-made chips. This sandwich will make any day feel like a Jolly Holiday. You can find our full review here.

Royal Cupcake – $6.99

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

Sleeping Beauty Cupcake17.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=750&ixlib=php 1.2

As with the original blue-pink dress debate, Flora and Merryweather are at it again. Never being able to agree which dress color looks best on Aurora, it looks like we are getting the best of both worlds with this cupcake’s buttercream icing.

As you can see, the cupcake is not hard on the eyes, and takes a wonderful picture… especially when paired with the matching color palette of Sleeping Beauty Castle. You can find our full review here.

Dulce de Leche Sundae – $6.99

Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor

IMG 2079.JPG?auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=scale&h=750&ixlib=php 1.2This ice cream sundae, served in a dark blue waffle bowl, has two scoops of delicious dulce de leche ice cream, bananas, caramel drizzle, and a Mickey-shaped sugar cookie. Of course, it wouldn’t be an ice cream sundae without whipped cream and a cherry on top!

The cookie was our favorite part of the dessert. While the menu description said “sugar cookie,” this cookie reminded us more of short bread. You can find our full review here.

Sorcerer Mickey Cake – $5.99

Plaza Inn

MagicHappensCake PN 4.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&ixlib=php 1.2

The presentation of this cake is adorable, with the icing being a wonderfully dark blue, just like Mickey’s robes. The whole thing is covered in a gold sparkle dust and edible stars.

Mickey’s hat was a fresh waffle cone coated in chocolate, which was a genius idea and made for a really great cake topper. You can find our full review here.

While this cake is very visually appealing, the taste does not correspond. The blue velvet cake was dense, but dry with not much flavoring. Food coloring may have been the most influential ingredient. You can read our full review of the parade dining package, complete with food thoughts and parade viewing analysis here.
