With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the rise, the Governor of California has issued a statewide order mandating that citizens must stay at home, with few exceptions, “until further notice.”
Deadline‘s Denise Petski reported on Governor Gavin Newsom’s order, which will keep open “essential” businesses, including:
- Gas stations
- Pharmacies
- Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants
- Banks
- Laundromats/laundry services
- Essential state and local government functions, including law enforcement and offices that provide government programs and services
Included in Petski’s list of businesses that will be shuttered while this order is in effect was “entertainment venues” and “public events and gatherings,” which may include the Disneyland Resort. As of the writing of this article, the resort has not announced any change to its closure schedule through March 31st, but this order may very well change that. Yesterday, we reported that the Disneyland Resort hotels were offering a deal beginning April 19th, which may suggest the resort’s more recent planned reopening date. While nothing has been confirmed, this order may change that.
