With the Disneyland Resort closed “until further notice” due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a staple of summer at Disneyland has already cancelled its plans for 2020.
The Disneyland All-American College Band has suspended its program for 2020, which would have marked its 50th year of performance. In a Facebook post, the band revealed the news on Friday, citing the “uncertainty” surrounding the “unprecedented and ever-changing” pandemic and the logistics required to bring all the college students to Disneyland for the summer.
The band, which first performed at the park in 1971, is made up of 21 college students from across the United States, who play primarily at Main Street, U.S.A.
Disney added:
“Given the history that Disneyland shares with the All-American College Band program, this decision was not made lightly, and we certainly understand how disappointing this will be for many. The band brings such incredible energy to our resort and joy to our guests each summer. The passion and talents of the band members will be greatly missed this year.”
