Disney+ has already taken the world by storm in the age of stay-at-home orders, and they’ve set their sights on their next conquest – Japan!
That’s right, the very first tweet from the official @DisneyPlusJP account went out this afternoon! The service will launch in Japan on June 11th for ¥700, or about $6.49 per month plus tax.
We’re so excited to see Disney+ expanding once again. We heard at the most recent earnings call that the streaming service is already a hit, with over 50 million subscribers in the first five months. With how big the Disney mania is in Japan, we can only imagine how successful this will be now that even more people can experience The Mandalorian, The Imagineering Story, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and more original programming alongside classic Disney films. Stay tuned to WDWNT for the latest news on Disney+!
