Last March, Disney Parks announced that all in-park smoking areas at Walt Disney World and Disneyland were to be phased out, to be replaced by designated smoking areas outside of park entrances. Now, Disneyland Resort has announced in a memo to its Cast Members that all backstage areas are to become fully smoke-free, in order to allow for further physical distancing throughout the property. This new policy also includes off-site locations. You can read the full announcement below:
Cast Members in search of health coaches or resources to go smoke-free can access the “Be Well… Be Smoke Free” program and other smoking cessation resources via the Cast Member Hub.
At this time, Disneyland Resort remains closed, with just select restaurants and retailers open at Downtown Disney District. No new reopening date has been announced.

As a custodial cast member I applaud the no smoking backstage it was horrible cleaning up the smoking area’s
As for the Smoking ban inside the parks, does that mean they will no longer set off fireworks? Political Correctness loves to pick and choose what is acceptable and what is not
Disney pretending to care about health when they reopen their parks during a pandemic. If you’re that concerned with your workers health, how about paying them while staying closed?

I’m not a cast member, but those cast members who do smoke should have a place to smoke on break…they deal with quite a lot during normal times and going back will be far from normal…I really feel bad for them
I think there should still be designated smoking areas, i understand what they are trying to do but for those of us who have been smoking for years there are times where we want to have a cigarette but by getting rid of that makes people not want to visit the parks
Great! While it is a fun habit for some, it is unhealthy and gross for the rest of us. We should think of everyone, specially the children, who are exposed to toxic fumes, while trying to enjoy the parks. Congrats, Disney, on your new policy!

I am a non-smoking 30-year Disneyland Cast Member. I know some people will be at a disadvantage who won’t be able to smoke in their usual places backstage, but the rest of us have always just put up with it. I am not a complainer, so I would just move someplace else. But now, I won’t have to. That I’m happy with. ☺️
I am an avid Disney fan since opening day. Been to Disneyland almost every year since 1971. I disagree with your policy. Smoking outside in designated areas will not harm anyone except the smokers. You can drink alcohol, get drunk and puke anywhere. Why dont you cut that out. Quitting smoking is very hard and not smoking is not an option. You can get very weak and pass out if you are a smoker. Needless to say my days at Disney are over and I know this effects a lot of people. Guess you dont need our money anymore. Goodby Disney.
