Starting on September 4, “the legend arrives” as Disney’s long-awaited, live-action Mulan film debuts on Disney+ at the price of $29.99. Disney+ now has a landing page to promote the film, as well as inform subscribers of the premium pricing.
A new trailer was also released today in celebration of the upcoming premiere:
As was clarified after the official announcement that Mulan was coming to Disney+, those who pay for Premier Access will be able to watch the film as many times as they want on any platform, so long as they are an active Disney+ subscriber:
Starting September 4, with Premier Access, you can watch Mulan before it’s available to all Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ will offer Premier Access to Mulan for $29.99 on disneyplus.com and select platforms. Once you have Premier Access to Mulan, you can watch as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available. Your access to Mulan will continue as long as you are an active Disney+ subscriber.
Disney+ now has a Premier Access section on their Help Center website, however during the recent Q3 earnings call, they did note that the Mulan release is a one-off thing, and not meant to be the preferred method for new theatrical releases. As with all Disney movies, Mulan will eventually be made available to all subscribers as part of the ever-expanding library, but those looking to view it during its makeshift “theatrical release” on Disney+ starting in September will have to pay for Premier Access.
For new subscribers, Disney+ is available for $6.99/month, or $69.99/year.
