2,500 Food Service Workers Expected to be Laid Off at Disneyland Resort

Yesterday, the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division announced plans to lay off 28,000 Cast Members within its domestic parks, but did not disclose layoffs by individual park locations. Today, more information is being distributed on behalf of unions negotiating for their members.

At Disneyland Resort, two unions have come forward with numbers so far. Local 11 claims 950 Cast Members will be laid off in November. Now, Workers United Local 50, which represents over 7,850 food service Cast Members at Disneyland Resort, has released a statement.

Union representatives claim 2,500 members are expected to be laid off by November 1.

Do note that this does not reflect the total number of Disneyland Resort Cast Members impacted. Layoffs will impact executive, salaried, and hourly roles. Currently, non-union, salaried, and executive Cast Members are receiving notice of layoffs.
