Limited Indoor Seating to Resume at Restaurants in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort

In an email to guests today, Disney confirmed that indoor seating will be opening at Downtown Disney District, following Governor Gavin Newsom moving Orange County into the “Red Tier” where indoor seating is possible.

The email confirmed the reopening of some more restaurants and shopping experiences before stating that indoor seating is now permitted.

More locations are now open as part of the phased reopening of the Downtown Disney® District, now including Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen®, California Sole and other shopping and dining experiences.

Dining locations at the Downtown Disney District have begun to reopen in a way that incorporates our enhanced health and safety measures, including physical distancing, the use of appropriate face coverings by Operating Participant employees, Cast Members, and Guests, increased cleaning procedures, and limited-contact Guest services. Additionally at this time, following state and county guidelines, limited indoor seating will be permitted; all other seating is outdoor patio only.

To promote physical distancing and touchless transactions, a number of changes have been made to our dining locations, including:

Increased outdoor patio-style seating
Parties seated at tables 6 feet apart
Digital or single-use menus available at many locations

This information was also added to the Downtown Disney “Know Before You Go” page of the Disneyland website, which explains the district’s current COVID-19 precautions.

Whether or not a restaurant does open indoor dining will likely be decided on a case-by-case basis. The City of Anaheim’s current capacity limit for indoor dining is 25% capacity or 100 people total, whichever is less. We will keep you updated as we continue to check on the status of restaurants at Downtown Disney District.

Though Disneyland Resort is permitting indoor dining, there is still no reopening date for the two theme parks. We recently saw them preparing for reopening, but guests have received cancellation emails through September 26.
