Disneyland Resort theme parks are ready to open once guidelines are issued, and it seems the state will be finally releasing said reopening guidelines “this week.” The news comes on the heels of a mass layoff for the domestic Disney Parks, with the company citing “the State’s unwillingness to lift restrictions that would allow Disneyland to reopen” as a major factor in that ultimately led to so many Cast Members losing their jobs.

California plans to issue reopening guidelines this week that will allow Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood and other theme parks in the state to resume operations after more than six months of coronavirus closures, according to state officials.
Reopening guidelines for California theme parks will be issued this week, according to Jesse Melgar, press secretary for Gov. Gavin Newsom. Theme park reopening guidelines may vary by county, according to Melgar.
Theme park reopening plans will be issued by the California Department of Public Health and ultimately incorporated into the Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
No specific date for the release of these guidelines has been issued, but it is likely to take place tomorrow during Governor Newsom’s COVID-19 update. Reopening dates can then be officially announced for local theme parks such as Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. Earlier today, Disneyland Resort began sending cancellation emails for reservations through October 17.
