Walt Disney World

• Bob Chapek stated that the Walt Disney World parks will remain at 25% capacity until the CDC guidelines change

Magic Kingdom

• The Magic Kingdom toll plaza repainting continues, with work moving to a new section of booths
• We stopped by the recently reopened quick-service restaurant, The Lunching Pad, to check on our favorite selection of stuffed pretzels—they now even have the rare jalapeño pretzel!
• Splash Mountain has recently benefitted from some maintenance, with the hopping Br’er Rabbit animatronic and a projection scene both being fixed, but it seems that now a fishing goose needs some care and attention after he fell in his boat

EPCOT

• A new safety sign appeared in the World ShowPlace in EPCOT reminding guests to keep their face coverings on
• Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was not deemed a “Priority Project” by execs, and as such it will not debut this year
• Despite the slow progress on the anchor ride of the area, the France Pavilion expansion is still taking shape with the addition of a new “Rue Auguste Gusteau” sign installed
• Our photo report from EPCOT takes you on a tour of the park to see the Columbus Day crowds, some cool new merch, and more

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• The Safari truck was removed from the upcoming goat exhibit on Kilimanjaro Safaris only a week after first being installed
• Of course the Nomad Lounge is among Walt Disney World’s best bars for both cocktails and small plates, and now their new Nomad Bowls bring a viable meal option to keep the lounging going

Disney Springs

• Wolfgang Puck Express unexpectedly shut its doors permanently, as of October 1

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

• We’ve been following the construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort closely, and today we saw the glass roof is covered as more crossbeams are removed
• A reopening date for Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has been shifted to October 16

Disneyland Resort

• It was announced that 214 actors were laid off after “Mickey and the Magical Map” and “Frozen: Live at the Hyperion” came to an official end
• California Governor Gavin Newsom will send teams to Walt Disney World and other theme parks to do research on the efficacy of COVID-19 protocols, which hopefully will inform decisions on reopening California parks
• The VOID in Downtown Disney was recently shut down for good after a legal battle, and now the signage has been removed from the location

Tokyo Disney Resort

• Mary Poppins and Bert were among the first characters to come back to Tokyo Disneyland after the reopening

New Merchandise

• Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps took the train from their home in Zootopia to come to the Magic Kingdom as these new Big Feet Plush
• New face masks featuring Up, Coco, Buzz Lightyear, “it’s a small world” and more came to the Disney Parks on both coasts

• A new “Saludos Amigos” margarita glass came to the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT

Disney+

• Disney announced a major shift and restructuring of the company’s priorities, with a heavy emphasis being moved onto their streaming service

• Disney will host a virtual investor day event on December 10 to elaborate on the direct-to-consumer shift

Universal Orlando Resort

• Our photo report at the parks bring you along for the ride as we see the Columbus Day crowds, some new Christmas ornaments and some changes to a beloved character’s costume
