Walt Disney World

Magic Kingdom

• As we move into the holidays, it seems Disney keeps haulin’ out the holly to deck out the park in full, as the toy soldiers have marched into Main Street, alongside a flurry of holiday merch at the Emporium
• Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are closed for refurbishment through the end of February and in preparation for the refurbishment, the Rivers of America has slowly been drained and is now almost completely empty

EPCOT

• Construction continues backstage at EPCOT on “Harmonious”, the upcoming nighttime spectacular, and recently we noticed that one of the barges had its rotating arm raised up during construction
• After many months, “Immobilangelo”—as we so lovingly referred to the Michelangelo audio-animatronic on Spaceship Earth in EPCOT that has not been functioning since before the park closure—is once again painting from his laid back position in the Sistine Chapel
• Beginning today, Frozen Ever After in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion is closed for refurbishment until November 6
• Permission to come aboard is once again being granted on the waterways connecting EPCOT, its resorts, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios as The Friendship Boats are once again ferrying guests across Crescent Lake

Disney Springs

• For anyone with a passion for cold brew and donuts, you can make them your regular gig because Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, which is currently under construction at Disney Springs, is now hiring their opening team

• New “The Child” Baby Yoda LEGO Creation is appearing in The LEGO Store at Disney Springs for Mando Mondays and we have your first look

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

• It seems work has begun in earnest on the extensive refurbishment of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as today the Monorail station closed ahead of additional work to be done on the resort’s facade
• And with the Monorail station now closed, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has opened up boat service direct to Magic Kingdom to mitigate lost transportation capacity

Other Walt Disney World News

• Thanks to one of our followers on twitter, we’re getting a first look at a collection of Walt Disney World ride vehicle toys reportedly coming to US McDonald’s locations on November 17, 2020
• Previously just $6.00 plus tax, single face masks are now retailing for $9.99 plus tax at Walt Disney World but thankfully, discounts can be applied

Disneyland Resort

• As Disneyland Resort and other neighboring theme parks in California remained shuttered, The Big City Mayor’s Coalition, which represents some of the largest cities in California, has issued a letter to the governor regarding the detrimental impacts of the extended closure on these local economies

Hong Kong Disneyland

• After nearly three years of work and construction, the transformation of Hong Kong Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle to the Castle of Magical Dreams, inspired by the various Disney Princesses, is complete and will be opening November 21

New Merchandise

• Tokyo Disney Resort has been experimenting more lately with mystery box merchandise, and now the resort is taking on a whole new collection of mystery boxes based on attraction posters—Disney Wonderbles
• The latest retro face mask available at Universal Orlando Resort is inspired by Universal Studios Florida’s former attraction Back to the Future: The Ride
• Another new face mask available at Universal Orlando Resort resembles the beautiful chocolate frog packaging designed by MinaLima for the Harry Potter films
• Throw your own dance party with this new interactive Groot and themed Bluetooth speaker, now available at Walt Disney World and also at Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort

• If you’ve been collecting the series of EPCOT attraction poster serigraphs, get ready to take another “Fantastic Adventure” through World Showcase with these United Kingdom Pavilion, Mexico Pavilion, and “Gran Fiesta Tour” posters from shopDisney
• The Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction collection for The Haunted Mansion is now at Disney Springs, after launching at Sir Mickey’s in Magic Kingdom last week
• Anyone who relates to Ariel will want this new hat now available at Walt Disney World, emblazoned with one of Ariel’s most famous lines in The Little Mermaid: “But daddy, I love him!”
• Four new Christmas face masks have appeared at Universal Orlando Resort, just in time for the holiday season
• Christmas has arrived at Magic Kingdom and that of course includes Christmas merchandise, like the new Christmas 2020 Leggings, Socks, and Greeting Cards now available at Star Traders in Tomorrowland
• This new star-covered Spirit Jersey with the skyline of the Ewok-inhabited Endor moon along the bottom has landed in Walt Disney World
• Even though the calendar may not say it, as far as merchandise goes, the holidays are in full swing around Walt Disney World, and Starbucks has put even more magic in our stocking with a new Disney Parks tumbler and ornament

Universal Studios

Universal Orlando Resort

• Don’t miss the chance to gain access to the Universal Orlando Resort Merchandise Garage Sale, taking place on November 13 from 9am-7pm for Passholders only
