Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- Join us on our first photo tour of the Magic Kingdom as we see Main Street Train Station covered in scrim as construction for TRON Lightcycle / Run continues, and on our second photo tour as we celebrate Walt Disney’s birthday, see some new railroad track laid in Fantasyland, and more
- Though it’s been over two years since the Walt Disney World Railroad took guests around the Magic Kingdom, our eagle-eyed reporter spotted an indication that things are on the right track as new train tracks are being laid near the Fantasyland Station
- And over in the Rivers of America, the Liberty Square Riverboat has had some new track installed as well, as the drained river bottom undergoes a refurbishment
EPCOT
- The Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts begins January 8, 2021, just a week after the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays finishes and work is about to begin for the eventual switchover as a new permit from Walt Disney Imagineering shows that the limited festival will still have photo-ops
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Expedition Everest was down at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today and the My Disney Experience app even notified guests that the attraction was unavailable
Disney Springs
- YeSake on the West Side of Disney Springs has a brand new holiday peppermint boba tea, so we headed to the kiosk to try this seasonal treat and bring you this review
Other Walt Disney World News
- The first Walt Disney World entrance to be refurbished ahead of the resort’s 50th anniversary is the archway on Western Way and except for a couple of details, it is now completely repainted
New Merchandise
- The holiday season has brought the return of the “Fröhliche Weihnachten” merchandise collection to the Germany Pavilion in EPCOT, including ornaments, apparel, kitchenware, and more
- Some Hanukkah “Light, Laughter and Latkes” merchandise can now be found at the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays in Walt Disney World
- Through the windows of some of the still-shuttered shops in the France Pavilion at EPCOT, we’ve been able to spot a brand new line of Beauty and the Beast merchandise, like these perfume-themed “Bonjour Belle” items
- Even more 2021 merchandise has arrived at Walt Disney World in time for the new year, including a new hat, as well as several trading pin sets and lanyards
Entertainment and Media
- The Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre may currently be closed, but it is doing what it can to help fans celebrate the holidays by offering personalized holiday messages on its marquee
