RUMOR: Chris Pratt to Replace Harrison Ford in Future “Indiana Jones” Projects

“It’s not the years. It’s the mileage.” Harrison Ford is set to return as Indiana Jones for a fifth time. The upcoming Indiana Jones film is said to be Ford’s last. A report from We Got This Covered suggests that Disney and Lucasfilm may tap Chris Pratt to pick up Indy’s hat and whip.

Indiana Jones

Pratt has worked with Disney before. He appeared as Peter Quill / Star-Lord in four Marvel Cinematic Universe films. He also voiced Barley Lightfoot in Disney and Pixar’s Onward. Pratt’s other notable credits include the Jurassic World films and NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

The We Got This Covered report cites Daniel Richtman as the source for the casting rumor.

[I]nsider Daniel Richtman is now claiming that Lucasfilm [is] eying Chris Pratt to play a younger version of the character presumably in some sort of prequel, but the tipster offers no further details to back up a statement that’s already been debunked by both Pratt and his theoretical predecessor in the past.

Both Pratt and Ford have denied the rumors of the titular hero’s recasting. The report goes on to state that Richtman also predicts spin-offs, a Disney+ series starring Ford, and an animated series. Richtman has been sharing the rumors in a Patreon post.

Can you see Chris Pratt wearing Indy’s fedora? Or, should Harrison Ford be the last actor to play the role? Sound off in the comments.

  1. Ford is and always will
Be Indy. Pratt could definitely pick up as his apprentice and continue the series. But that leaves the question… what about his son played by Shia Lebouf?
