dlnt2·Disneyland Resort·February 18, 2021·1 min readPHOTOS: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Construction Chugs Along at Disneyland Park It has been a couple of months since our last look at the construction of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at the Disneyland Resort. The new attraction is being built in Mickey’s Toontown and we were able to get photos of the latest construction progress. High-reach machinery is being used as the construction crew works on the attraction’s exterior, now enclosing the building. Crew members can be seen working inside the building as well. It was back in September 2020 that the first steel beam was installed at the site. Five months later, the infrastructure is seemingly complete with the exterior work coming along nicely. Whereas the Walt Disney World version of this attraction takes place in the Chinese Theater, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland will be housed inside the newly constructed El CapiTOON Theater. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is expected to open at the Disneyland Resort in 2023.
