Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- We spent a foggy day in the Magic Kingdom to get some eerie shots of Cinderella Castle looming through the mist, and see what’s new at the park to bring you in this photo report
- A few days ago, construction walls were erected around a portion of the exterior Peter Pan’s Flight queue in Magic Kingdom and now, scaffolding and scrim have been erected between the queue façade and Columbia Harbour House
EPCOT
- Most of the new Leave A Legacy panels are installed to the left before entering EPCOT, but now panels to the right have been installed
- Much of the roof of Innoventions West has been removed as the building is slowly demolished in EPCOT and since yesterday, roof removal has begun on the Art of Disney section of the building
- Today, during our visit to EPCOT, we saw preparations have already started for the Taste of EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival as much of the flowers and gardens are already in place at the Italy Pavilion
- Greetings, World Travelers, from a beautiful and rather hot day at EPCOT, where we stopped in to check out what might be new in this ever-changing park, before heading out to Disney Springs to bring you a comprehensive photo report
Disney Springs
- The Boathouse at Disney Springs will have a new brunch beginning Sunday, February 21 — The Captain’s Sing Along Brunch will feature a new menu and dueling pianos at the fan favorite eatery
Disneyland Resort
- When the Star Wars Trading Post opens at the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort, it won’t be tied to the same story constraints that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge enforces, allowing for a more generic merchandise assortment
Disneyland Paris
- Disneyland Paris is preparing for its 30th anniversary next year, and the castle’s roof turrets will be replaced with new versions as part of the refresh, and today those turrets were spotted being delivered to the resort
New Merchandise
- We recently spotted two new apparel items available at Walt Disney World: a Pizza Planet and a Minnie Mouse baseball jersey
- These same baseball jerseys have also been found at the Disneyland Resort, albeit with Disneyland branding on the Minnie Mouse jersey instead of Walt Disney World
- A new book titled, “Space Mountain: From Earth to the Stars” will be available starting tomorrow, February 12 at Disneyland Paris
Entertainment and Media
- Directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed Avengers: Endgame and are currently working on the new live-action Hercules movie, are teasing what’s in store for a possible Disney Cinematic Universe
Disney+
- According to Deadline, actress Gina Carano, who played bounty hunter Cara Dune in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, has been fired after several since-deleted social media posts
The Walt Disney Company
- The Walt Disney Company has just released its Q1 earnings report for 2021, recapping October, November and December of 2020, and reported strong income, mostly credited to Direct to Consumer services
- Within those Direct to Consumer services, Disney+ continues to be a juggernaut of streaming, surpassing 94.9 million subscribers as of December 31 while ESPN+ has reached 12.1 million subscribers, almost doubling from a year ago, and Hulu reached 39.4 million subscribers
- Also in the Q1 2021 Financial Results for The Walt Disney Company, Disney stated that capital investments in the parks decreased 43% quarter over quarter
- During today’s financial result call for Q1, Disney CEO Bob Chapek stated that he expects the current mask and social distancing requirements at the Disney Parks to not exist by 2022
