BREAKING: Bob Chapek Announces Disneyland Theme Parks Will Reopen in Late April

After over a year of closure, the theme parks of the Disneyland Resort are set to reopen under California’s revised guidelines in late April 2021.

Bob Chapek announced at today’s Annual Shareholder Meeting that Disney is planning for a late April reopening of both Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure. Theme parks can reopen starting April 1st, but Disney is choosing to use some additional time to prepare the parks for guests.

Disney California Adventure will open (in earnest) for a ticketed event called “A Touch of Disney” on March 18th without attractions. The full theme park reopening would include rides and more with limited capacity and a number of other safety restrictions in place.

Bob Chapek said further details on the full reopening of Disneyland Resort will be shared at a later date.
