As guests eagerly await the reopening of Disneyland Resort after its COVID-19 pandemic-related closure over a year ago, Cast Members are hard at work. To welcome guests back safely, several precautions are being set up throughout the parks. Signs were installed within the parks back in September 2020 with safety measure reminders. Now, much as we saw with Walt Disney World, physical distancing markers have been added to the esplanade outside the park entrances.

Disney California Adventure saw the installation of social distancing markers back in March before the start of the “Touch of Disney” event.

Now, it’s Disneyland Park’s turn to prepare to make magic safely. Blue and white physical distancing markers are placed six feet apart.

The markers are visible far and wide. We estimated that enough markers were present to accommodate 20-25 parties per line.

Cast Members returned today for the start of a “test and adjust” period before Cast Member previews. Between April 27th and April 29th, Disneyland Cast Members will be able to access a private soft-opening.

According to Cast Members, the “test and adjust” period allows Cast Members to test attractions and dining. Since a year has passed since the Cast Members have worked, this period likely helps them re-adjust to operations to ensure things run smoothly for reopening day.
