Today, Disneyland officials may have confirmed that guests will not be able to visit from out of state for the re-opening of Disneyland’s theme parks.
According to MousePlanet.com, they received the following statement from Disney:
“Until further notice, only California residents may visit our parks, in line with current state guidelines. Please visit our policy here.“
You may recall that California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy was updated without fanfare on April 19th to state that “fully vaccinated persons from out-of-state may visit or attend activities or events that are restricted to in-state visitors.” Disneyland Resort fits this criteria. While SeaWorld in San Diego is now accepting out of state visitors who can prove they are fully vaccinated, Disneyland is not willing to alter their own policy at this time.
It is possible that Disneyland is unwilling to check vaccination records, so they will instead stick to in-state visitors only for the time being. That being said, these regulations could change at any time.

The results of the update to the blueprint are confusing. Sea World is the only park that has updated their guidelines based on the blueprint update, but the also qualify as a zoo/aquarium, so can operate under different rules.
While this blueprint update seems to allow non-Californians to visit, my advice would be to hold off on plans if you don’t live in California (I live just 15 miles from California, closer than many Californians to SoCal parks, but I’m not driving 8 hours just to be turned away). I’ll wait until I’m 100% sure that I can visit.
