The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been on a bit of a big screen hiatus. The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has delayed productions and closed theaters. Despite the turmoil, Marvel seems confident in the upcoming Eternals feature film. According to Screen Rant, a sequel is already in the works.
Movie insider John Campea believes that the news was omitted from Marvel’s recent sizzle reel because the Eternals sequel would premiere beyond 2023.
It’s basically the same reason Avengers 5 and Eternals 2 weren’t announced. They were only announcing those films up to 2023 that have verified release dates. There are over 20+ projects on the board…. We all know there’s going to be an Avengers 5 and there’s going to be an Eternals 2.
Marvel is reportedly very happy with director Chloé Zhao’s vision for Eternals. The story spans 7,000 years and stars Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gemma Chan.
Eternals is scheduled to open in theaters on November 5, 2021.
