We were excited to return to Disney California Adventure today after Disneyland Resort reopened on Friday! With the park’s reopening came some queue and operational changes for attractions. Let’s check out Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Splashes of “space remnants” recently revealed to be a cosmic distruption can be seen in front of the attraction, thanks to the Collector’s fortress warping the ground immediately surrounding the alien stronghold.
Speaking of the Collector, Guests are met with a statue of him while they wait in the all-outdoor queue.
As with reopened attractions, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission – BREAKOUT! has physical distancing markers lining its queue.
The markers are in place to ensure that Guests maintain physical distancing from others parties.
The queue moves along swiftly.
A cosmic disruption oozes from the grounds surrounding the attraction as umbrellas partially cover the queue.
The line continues, wrapping around the statue of the Collector.
While the indoor queue features many of the Collector’s prized possessions, including Cosmo the Space Dog, brought to life by audio-animatronics technology and other recognizable artifacts from the MARVEL Universe, this entire portion is walked through.
A Cast Member with a face shield and mask, of course, lets Guests know that the main pre-show is skipped. While there is no pre-show, there is signage in the boiler room area that tells the story of what the pre-show is all about. The signage is on the wall to your left as you are moved thru the queue.
The astonishing pre-show that takes place in the Collector’s office with Rocket Raccoon is currently stopped due to physical distancing practices.
However, we were quickly sent on our way to the loading area.
Physical distancing markers continued.
There are four “themed” physical distancing markers for each elevator.
One plexiglass divider is present between the seats on the first row of the ride vehicle. Riders are only sat in the front and back rows.
And now, let the fun begin!
The plexiglass on the first row ensures that Guests are divided from each other while on the attraction.
