Upon reopening, several new character experiences have debuted around Disneyland Resort. We kept an eye out for some of these new distanced meet-and-greets in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure. Let’s see who we found!
Lilo from Lilo & Stitch takes the stage at Paradise Garden Bandstand.
The stage is adorned in motifs from her film, such as surfboards, “‘Ohana,” and plenty of tropical flowers.
Lilo interacts with guests while posing for photos.
Stitch has landed!
Experiment 626 replaces Lilo at various times of the day at the Bandstand.
Stitch was acting silly and showing off for photos.
He took a chance to dance around the stage.
He looks like he was in the middle of cleaning his surfboard. Time to get back to work, Stitch!
Miguel from Disney/Pixar’s Coco can also be found in Paradise Gardens playing his beloved guitar.
The physical distancing barriers are set up like Dia de los Muertos ofrendas, the altars seen in the movie. They are overflowing with candles, food, and plenty of marigolds.
As a whimsical, hand-crafted puppet, Miguel may also be seen walking around the area.
Further down, we encountered Nick Wilde from Zootopia!
And it looks like Nick might be back to his old ways. We caught him peddling his “pawpsicles.”
Nick can be seen interacting with guests along the side of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure on the pathway between Grizzly Peak and Pixar Pier.
Hordes of recycling bins with used “pawpsicle” sticks create a barrier to maintain physical distancing between Nick and guests.
The “Niceberg” organic frozen treats are a fun prop for this distanced meet and greet.
Later on, Judy Hopps took Nick’s place.
Judy was more than happy to pose for photos while interacting with guests from a safe distance.
