dlnt2·Disneyland Resort·May 2, 2021·2 min readPHOTOS, VIDEO: Plunge Down Splash Mountain Before Retheme at Disneyland Park Reopening Splash Mountain has reopened along Disneyland Park! We’ve decided to take the plunge today and say hello to an attraction that is set to get a retheme to The Princess and the Frog in an effort to become more inclusive and “represent transformative cultural change”. Splash Mountain was only at a 10-minute wait mid-afternoon today. Signs are posted throughout the queue to remind Guests to maintain physically distancing. The Briar Patch hat shop has yet to open upon the reopening of Disneyland Resort. Even though this is a log flume ride and Guests may get wet, Guests must keep their masks on at all times. Br’er Bear, Fox, and Rabbit greet Guests at the entrance before moving up the queue up the stairs. The entire queue is physically distanced. Currently, one party is loaded per log. A sign reminds you to remain seated at all times during the attraction. Br’er Rabbit will soon be packing his bags for good as the Princess and the Frog retheme moves in—although no timeframe for this change has been given. As you head out of the Briar Patch, the vultures get you ready for your impending doom. Br’er Fox has Br’er Rabbit tied up a bit. Here we go! The iconic splash! A splash landing will stay upon the retheme. The retheme will only include the removal of the Song of the South characters and music. Rest easy, Br’er Rabbit. Soon we’ll say goodbye to the Laughin’ Place and start to “Dig a little Deeper” with Princess Tiana! The on-ride photo viewing screens are currently turned off as there is a new viewing section outside the attraction as standalone kiosks. Watch our full ride-through video below.
